Winmau World Masters



The Winmau World Masters is one of the British Darts Organisation's (BDO) top events has been running since 1974.

Held over 4 days in early September and sponsored by the dart board manufacturer Winmau since it's inception, the Winmau World Masters is second only to the BDO World Championships held at Lakeside.

Where is the Winmau World Masters held?

For the last few years it has been held in Hull, UK but previous to that it has had a nomadic existence with over 11 different venues, mainly in the London area.

Is the Winmau World Masters just for the Pro men?

Initially just a professional men's tournament it now plays host to the Women's World Masters (introduced in 1982), a Boy's World Masters (introduced in 1986) and more recently the Girl's World Masters (1999).

Winners of the men's event qualify automatically for the BDO World Championships if they haven't already.

The World Masters is played in a straight knock-out best of x sets.
